Employers face new laws, regulations in 2009

Chamber leadership works for

member businesses and business community

                       

            The Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce announces its leadership for 2009 with the confirmation of a new Executive Board. At the helm is Chairman of the Board Dan Klingenberger, Dowling, Aaron & Keeler, Inc. Joining him is Chairman Elect Rick Riley, Townsend Design, and the 2009 vice chairs of the various Chamber divisions.

Garrett Ming, Jim Burke Lincoln Mercury, will lead the Administrative

Division, which oversees the finances and personnel issues for the Chamber. Stephanie Weber, Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield, will serve as Treasurer. The Networking Division, which is charged with providing opportunities for developing business contacts, will be led by Monique Rogers, ARRC Technology. The Vice Chair of the Business Advocacy Division, Susie Geiger, Occidental Petroleum, will present the voice of local business in the legislative arena. Tom Randour, KGET-TV 17, will lead the Community Outreach Division, which works to enhance the cultural wellbeing of our community through business support. Larry Reider, Kern County Superintendent of Schools, will lead the Member Education Division, focusing on programs to assist members in honing their business skills.

            Also serving on the Executive Board for 2009 are Director-at-Large Matthew Park, Kern County Farm Bureau, immediate past chairman Keith Brice, Mid State Development Corporation, and Chamber President/CEO Debra Moreno.

            New board members Linda Heald, Automobile Club of Southern California; Shaun Kelly, TWIW Insurance Services; Henry Medina, Fleet Card Fuels; and Danielle Wade, Bright House Networks, join the 2009 Board of Directors, which includes Mike Allen; Spanish Radio Group; Scott Begin, San Joaquin Bank; Sheryl Chalupa, Goodwill Industries; Bruce Freeman, Castle & Cooke California, Inc.; James George, CSU Bakersfield; Dayna Nichols, Castle Print & Publication; Danny Ordiz, Ordiz-Melby Architects, Inc.; Tim Terrio, Terrio Therapy-Fitness, Inc.; Leslie Walters, Walters & Associates; Derek Yurosek, Bolthouse Farms, Inc.; and Barry Zoeller, Tejon Ranch Company.
