Made over 1,400 referrals to Chamber members in response to inquiries from coast-to-coast

Represented the interests of business with government by urging local legislators and caucus leaders to apply common sense, bipartisan solutions to the state budget dilemma and avoid policies that could further harm the economy

Promoted business and the local economy during the March 2009 Networking Breakfast and Business After Hours Trade Show Mixer, which connected more than 490 attendees

Affirmed the Chamber’s commitment and responsibility to its members and the business community during the Jan. 22 Annual Installation Dinner attended by over 325

Helped to increase member business knowledge and skills through seminars and workshops attended by over 130

Highlighted ways to achieve regulatory compliance, remain competitive and protect the environment during the 2009 Energy & Clean Air Expo attended by over 400

Explored political processes and engaged attendees in open dialogue during the Chamber’s 2nd Candidates’ Clinic

Provided networking opportunities for more than 150 during the February Mixer hosted by San Joaquin Bank

Cosponsored the 9th Annual Kern County Economic Summit, which explored the County’s economic condition and issues affecting growth and diversification

Worked to strengthen the economy by initiating plans for the 3rd trade mission and tour of China

Called for Beautiful Bakersfield nominations from throughout the community to recognize businesses, organizations and people whose contributions make a difference to our quality of life

Supported Chamber members with over 110 FREE announcements through Metro and E-News

Increased awareness of local opportunities and issues for 62 class members in the Leadership and Youth Leadership Bakersfield programs

Strengthened the Chamber and business community with the addition of 45 new members

Worked to benefit Chamber members by conducting over 37 committee and task force meetings

Opened meeting rooms 35 times for members to conduct their business meetings, seminars and appointments

Logged over 69,000 visitors (your potential customers) to the Chamber’s online connection site
