 With the Support and on Behalf of its Membership in 2010 the Chamber: • Worked to ensure a pro-business environment, partnering with a variety of coalitions to strengthen advocacy effort. • Weighed in on numerous pieces of state and federal legislation, regulations, and ballot propositions supporting the efforts of business as the driver of our local economy. • Added an International Business and Trade Committee to efforts to support business • Cosponsored the Kern Economic Summit, Energy & Clean Air Expo, 13th Biennial Oil & Gas Conference and 14th Annual SHRM Symposium & Expo. • Brought high level business training to members with expert speakers/trainers, Patrick Lencioni and David Aaker. • Promoted business by bringing several thousand members and community partners together for networking opportunities through events such as the Business & Technology Expo, Business After Hours Trade Shows, Mixers and Summer Social. • Collaborated on a variety of educational programs and academies designed to help graduate “work ready” students. • Made thousands of referrals to Chamber members in response to inquiries for products and services. • Logged thousands of visitors to the Chamber’s website and expanded marketing presence to include Facebook and Twitter as a venue to promote our Chamber and our members. • Conducted more than 180 committee and task force meetings to plan and execute Chamber member driven programs and opened our conference rooms over 200 times for our members to conduct their meetings and activities at the Chamber. • Celebrated numerous ground breakings, grand openings and milestones for member businesses. • Strengthened the Chamber and the business community with the addition of over 190 new members businesses. • And much, much, more.
