On behalf of our members, since the beginning of 2007 your Chamber ...

• Studied and took positions on 10 pieces of legislation that have impacts for business
• Made over 4,400 referrals to Chamber members in response to inquiries from coast to coast
• Helped enhance member business skills through a variety of seminars attended by over 260 Chamber representatives
• Connected small and large businesses during the first two networking breakfasts that drew more than 150 people
• Brought together approximately 750 attendees with 110 exhibitors during the March and June 2007 Business After Hours Trade Shows
• Promoted energy efficiency and clean air values for business during the 2nd annual Energy and Clean Air Expo
• Offered networking opportunities for over 350 Chamber members and friends during Mixers at McMillin Homes, Junior League of Bakersfield and Mazda of Bakersfield
• Teamed with city staff to provide a sign ordinance workshop for more than 20 attendeees
• Honored those whose contributions help to improve the quality of life in our community during the Beautiful Bakersfield awards
• Brought high level business training to 350 members thru the Walt Disney World Disney Institute Keys to Excellence
• Took a pro-business agenda to legislators in Sacramento
• Provided a free orientation session to show Chamber members how to tap into state job training funds
• Stengthened the Chamber and the business community with the addition of 81 new members
• Co-presented the annual Kern County Economic Summit
• Spotlighted our local legislator’s vote records on issues of importance to business
• Offered business leaders a “Report from Washington” by Congressman Kevin McCarthy
• Highlighted city-wide projects and progress during the State of the City forum attended by 370 Chamber representatives.
• Trained future community leaders through the prestigious Leadership Bakersfield and Youth Leadership programs
• Opened Chamber meeting and conference rooms 95 times for our member's meetings
