I would like to welcome you to the Chamber on behalf of my fellow Board members and the entire professional staff of the organization. Your decision to join or renew your membership shows recognition of the importance of the Chamber to local business. We greatly appreciate your commitment! Each year brings new challenges for business. In both strong and weak economies your business must find a way to improve and prosper. The Chamber offers many opportunities for you to do both. Your voice joins the voices of many other business leaders to make sure that the needs and interests of the local business community are heard locally, statewide and nationally. GBCC has long served as a strong advocate for businesses in the Greater Bakersfield and Kern County area. I encourage you to take advantage of the tremendous platform and resource the Chamber offers. 

The Chamber offers many networking and marketing opportunities. Please take advantage of the many mixers, social events and business conferences to let others know about your business and to learn from other business leaders. You simply cannot find a better value than your Chamber investment. Use the many opportunities to promote your business.

Our success depends on volunteers and the very professional Chamber staff. I encourage you to get involved with the Chamber.  Are you curious about what happens at a Government Review Council meeting? Attend a meeting. You will like what you see.  Have you been looking for a convenient way to learn more about how to deal with your employee and human resources challenges? Attend a Labor and Employment Law committee meeting. You will be welcomed and educated. Has Leadership Bakersfield or Beautiful Bakersfield intrigued you? We need your input and assistance! The opportunities are many and the rewards great.

I am honored to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors for 2009 and am looking forward to working with the very distinguished Board of Directors and dedicated staff.  We have a great year planned and I know that with your help the Chamber will continue its tradition of success.
