Pancakes and Partnerships
The Pancakes and Partnerships Procurement Breakfast event series provide small businesses to learn about the procurement practices of the area’s largest corporations and nonprofits in an intimate setting. Past presenters include Chevron, County of Kern, City of Bakersfield and Houchin Community Blood Bank.
In a special two-part series, small business owners will gain a high-level of understanding of the most common types of commercial agreements and what strategies to use when dealing with the thorny terms found in nearly all commercial agreements.
In the second session on September 6, a seasoned procurement professional will share her expertise to help our small business members untangle the buying process at our next Pancakes and Partnerships Procurement Breakfast. A partner at Klein DeNatale Goldner, Tracy Saiki, specializes in providing outside general counsel services for businesses, and has negotiated thousands of commercial agreements in diverse contexts. She has also served as general counsel for Bolthouse Farms and Campbell Soup Company. You will learn:
- How form agreements can protect a company’s business.
- What issues to look for when reviewing form agreements received from commercial partners or vendors.
- When to seek legal review and how to obtain that economically.
The second session will take place at Klein DeNatale Goldner’s office, 4550 California Ave., Second Floor. Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the program following from 8-9:30 a.m. Click here to register for the second session. Cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance to preclude billing.
