State of the City Luncheon Forum

The annual State of the City Luncheon Forum is one of the community’s marquee business events. This event will feature city leaders providing insight on top issues facing Bakersfield, progress that has been made over the past year and where the city is heading in the future.

The 2017 State of the City Luncheon Forum was held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at the Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center.

Revamping Bakersfield’s image, budget concerns and regional transportation projects were the main topics for city leaders at the 2017 State of the City Luncheon Forum.

In front of a packed ballroom at the Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center, Mayor Karen Goh took the stage first where her message centered on an ambitious branding effort for the city, which she called for all stakeholders to get involved.

City Manager Alan Tandy’s presentation highlighted progress with local transportation projects, the state of the city’s budget and possible plans to have more water flowing through the Kern River. To read more, click here.
